VICE PRESIDENT FOR CHURCH MINISTRIES, C&MA
After 36 years of serving the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) as a local church pastor in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New York, as well as in college ministry in Nyack, NY, and most recently as the District Superintendent of the Metropolitan District,Kelvin Walker currently serves the Vice President for Church Ministries, C&MA. He has been a member of C&MA’s President’s Cabinet and the Board of Directors, including a 4-year term as the Corporate Vice-President for the denomination. He also previously served 3 terms as the president of the Association of African American Pastors of the C&MA. He has a Bachelor’s in Sacred Music, a Master’s of Professional Studies in Church Development, and a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership in the Global Context. Kelvin and his wife, Doni, have six adult children, three of whom are married, and two beautiful granddaughters. Last words are most memorable—he loves Jesus.
Rev. James Chung
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF US CHINESE CHURHCES ASSOCIATION
James Chung currently serves as Executive Director of Multicultural Ministries for the Chinese Churches Association, a position he has held since October 2017. With over 25 years of ministry experience, he has served as an international worker in several countries, regional team developer for the Alliance, and as a pastor in the Metro District, bringing extensive cross-cultural expertise to his leadership in multicultural church ministry.
Dr. Jen Ashby
DIRECTOR OF CHURCH HEALTH
Dr. Rev. Jen Ashby has been serving in local C&MA churches since 1999, primarily in the areas of outreach, discipleship, and other pastoral ministry. Her passion for the health and effectiveness of local churches led her to the role of Director of Church Health for the Metro District in January, 2023. Jen holds degrees from the University of Kansas and Alliance Theological Seminary, and is certified by and leads cohorts for Life-On-Life Formation. She currently serves on the Board of Directors and the Theological Issues Committees for the C&MA in the US.
Dr. Bill Hoyt
PRESIDENT OF NEXTSTEP COACHING AND CONSULTING
Bill became a Jesus-follower at 18. While at Wheaton College, he worked with gangs in Chicago, and during seminary, as a corrections officer at a maximum-security facility for juveniles. For twenty years, Bill served local parishes. Then fifteen years as a District Executive, and now, since 2002, as President of NexStep Coaching and Consulting, serving as a consultant and ministry coach for churches, pastors, and denominational leaders. For twenty-eight years Bill taught preaching, worship and leadership courses as an adjunct professor at Bethel Seminary and has been involved in humanitarian work and ministry in Vietnam since the early 1990’s.
Rev. Brian McMillan
DIRECTOR OF CHURCH PLANTING
Brian McMillan is the founder and Lead Pastor of CenterPoint Church, a multicampus church with 7 campuses on Long Island, NY. Over the last 21 years, CenterPoint has grown from a church of 4 to a congregation of over 2500 in one of the most unchurched regions of the country. Brian is also a founding board member of ReviveLI.com, a network of like-minded churches on Long Island, dedicated to joint church planting and collaborative learning to advance the Kingdom of God through NY. Brian is also the Church Planting Director of the Metro District of the Missionary Alliance. Brian is married to Sarah, a marriage and family therapist. They have two boys, Brady and Conor.
Rev. Joel Koenisberg
DIRECTOR OF LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Director of Leadership Development for the Metro District, overseeing the ongoing training of our pastors and the licensing and ordination process. This year he celebrated 26 years of marriage with Deborah and two daughters in college. 22 years as a pastor at Princeton Alliance Church and 1 year as a transitional pastor at Edinburg Road Chapel. Loves woodworking, outdoors, music, cooking and sharing life with good friends.
Rev. Jessica Mitchell
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF CHURCH HEALTH / PEAK PROGRAM MANAGER
Jessica is a native Oregonian now living in Brooklyn, NY, and has been serving in the Alliance since 2015 in various pastoral roles, first in the Alliance NW District and now in the Metro District. Her ministry has focused primarily on young adults, discipleship, and spiritual formation. She currently serves as Assistant Director of Church Health and PEAK Program Manager for the Metro District. She holds a Bachelor’s in Christian Ministry Studies from Missio College and a Master’s in Intercultural Studies from Alliance Theological Seminary. She is passionate about helping churches and leaders expand their vision for Kingdom impact so that every image bearer has space to encounter God, contribute their gifts, and belong with dignity. In her free time, you can find her playing basketball, cheering for the New York Liberty, surfing, or reading a good book.
Rev. Spencer Sweeting
EXECUTIVE PASTOR OF ALLEGHENY CENTER ALLIANCE CHURCH IN PITTSBURGH, PA
Spencer Sweeting is the Executive Pastor of Allegheny Center Alliance Church —a historic congregation following Jesus in diverse community in the heart of Pittsburgh, PA. Over 20 years of vocational ministry, Spencer has served as a worship leader, church planter, and lead pastor in a variety of contexts. He is married to Beth—a professional counselor—and together they are raising three daughters. In 2012, the Sweetings planted City Alliance Church in their hometown of Williamsport, PA. From 2020 to 2025, Spencer served as Lead Pastor of New Spring Church in Colorado Springs. At ACAC, he develops staff, shapes culture, and helps discern strategy to increase Kingdom impact. A passionate musician, Spencer has led worship around the world—and still prefers a song to a sermon. He first sensed a call to pastoral ministry through the Alliance Christian Fellowship at Penn State University, where he earned degrees in English and Religious Studies. He later studied Evangelism and Church Planting at Liberty University Theological Seminary. Spencer finds everyday joy in good coffee, good music, and good stories. He is also a proud co-owner of the Green Bay Packers.
